Hi all,
i have just come off the river and many swims and paths are under water and are not fishable,remember that if we dont have any rain we may see a drop in levels as the river can drop quickly.
Downstream of school bridge,on the Hurn side,the paths are under water and not passable.
Downstream of school bridge on the Bournemouth side,swims only accessable up to the copse opposite the meadow.
Highbanks from the bypass bridge,to the steps on the Bournemouth side,there...

AFTER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TONIGHT,I CAUGHT TWO IRAQ'S PUTTING OUT LONG LINES ON THE CONCRETE TRIANGLE JUST BELOW THE NEW WEIR.I SAW THEM OF THE WATER AFTER THEY WERE TOLD IT WAS ILLEGAL AND IF THEY WERE SEEN AGAIN THEY WOULD BE REPORTED TO THE POLICE,I FOLLOWED THEM BACK TO THE CAR PARK,THEY WERE DRIVING .........

THIS IS JUST TO LET MEMBERS BE AWARE THAT A PIKE ANGLER SNAGGED AN UNUSUAL OBJECT LAST WEEK ON BEAT 3,IT WAS A LONG LINE WITH A CRAYFISH TRAP ATTACHED TO THE END.THERE IS JUST NO STOPPING AS TO WHAT PEOPLE GET UP TO WHEN THEY ARE BORED.
I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT YOU DO REQUIRE A LICENCE FOR SUCH TRAPS,THESE LICENCES ARE ATTACHED TO THE ACTUAL TRAP WHEN THEY ARE OBTAINED,THEY WERE FREE TO OBTAIN I DONT KNOW IF THAT IS STILL THE CASE.

For those of you who fish Pig Island at Throop (mud swim..pallet swim..boulder weir and treasure island ) the access gate is now obsolete,meaning that it can no longer be used,the RDAA lock has been removed and a new lock has been fitted which belongs to DORSET COUNTRYSIDE.
A new gate has been fitted along with our lock,this is situated adjacent to the hatches.It is now in operation,and once through the gate just follow the new fence to the end and turn left,there you will see a stile...

LONGHAM LAKE RE-OPENED

Longham lake was temorarily closed due to an algae bloom. It has now re-opened but anglers are advised to wash hands etc if they come into contact with the water.

Once again i shall be writing the Throop fishing reports for Davis Tackle as i did last season,i have started of with a pre-season report which can be found on the Davis Tackle website.There has been a slight change from when the report was first written,the river has come up about a foot and is running coloured and making fish hard to spot.
