Sorry if this has been covered before to some extent, but I'd like to ask the experts like Breadflake on how to get through to the better fish when
trotting. On the Avon in Summer, I trot the gravel runs in The Severals with float fished white maggot, feeding a catapult pouchful at every cast. The problem
is that I usually catch shedloads of dace and minnows, but not the better chub or perhaps barbel that I am after.

I have read most of the advice that the magazine pundits give about fishing with 'Pellet' hook baits and loose feed for winter Barbel fishing but
still note that a fair number of anglers continue to use pellet baits all year round? I would appreciate any advice from our Barbus experts on whether
'The Pellet' is still an effective winter bait (both hook bait and loose feed) or not.

For the record I tend to switch to the boilie in winter but am by no means convinced...
