Trotted Feeder for those barbel and chub things

Quick questions for you lot.....

Some of you may remember a swimfeeder drennen used to produce. They were the slim things with the bell lead and stiff link attachment. I think they replaced them with the new carp feeders. Drennen stopped making them on the basis they were crap but I think I may have finally found...

Lure Fishing For Chub

I have been doing some light lure fishing for chub recently on the Bickerley Millstream. I haven't caught anything big yet, but I've had a lot of fun catching one pounders on small floating plugs. Of the ones I've tried, the Rebel Crickhoppers were by far the best. They look like a grasshopper or small insect and dive just below the surface when retrieved. Has anybody else tried this, and has any tips or advice to pass on?

hi just wondering what the rules are for using a float tube

or a pontoon

on any of the lakes ie wash pit and the other two lakes there , as i fly fish for carp and i need to get closer and be able to back cast

FILM SHOW

Hugh Miles (well known for his series 'Passion fo Angling' has made two further films to be shown on TV next year ' Searching for Gold' and 'Magic Circles' as part of his new 'Catching the Impossible' series.

As president of Wimborne AC he has agreed a public viewing of the films. Tickets are £5 with proceeds going to the ACA.

The viewings are at the Barrington Theatre, Ferndown, 8pm on both Tuesday November 25th and Tuesday December 2nd....

need reel under £50 for mainly barbel and pike and need advice.

hello. i need to buy a reel and i only really want to spend £50 and under. i was using the wychwood rd 40 which i found to be quite good, but need another reel, which reel do you guys think would be best for me... the fish i go for is mainly barbel and pike. thanks.

i'm really stuck in what one is the best for the price.

Hampshire Avon Perch

Having for fished for some years on the middle Hampshire Avon, I have realised that it is ages since I have caught a perch anywhere near Ringwood or Ibsley, or even heard of one being caught. It seems that perch have all but died out on the Avon, apart from at The Royalty. Does anybody know if they are making any signs of a comeback, or if there will ever be any plans to re-stock them?

New Stour barbel record - why are barbel (and other species) getting so big?

The Mail is this week reporting a new Stour record fish of 18lbs 1oz! Although no details of venue quoted (unsurprisingly), the word on the grapevine is that it came from the middle reaches around Wimborne.

What a huge fish and what is it with barbel these days (a new record for the Dove at 16lbs 7oz was reported in the same issue while the Loddon has also thrown up some very big fish I believe)? They suddenly seem to be packing on the pounds in most rivers and it can't just...

hi just wondering if anybody has used the Predator Pro 49X, i have tryed to not it like it sugest but keep finding it breaks. but it is breaking in the middle of the trace, or a couple of inches above the knot. ive tryed several not including, grinners, palomars and figure of eight loops and not had it break directly at the knot once Any help is greatly apreciated.

im doing a bit on Beat 3 at the moment, loads of Chub, but no barbs. I plan to fish the very tidal area below the wear, heading towards iford. I know the loads of barbs further up (having caught loads of them), but has anyone had any below the weir? I have seen a pic of one of 6lb from iford bridge (caught in amongst the mullet!), but i fancy fishing the the wear down (weir by iford golf course) and am after a big fish that dosn't get as much pressure as them further up. I've done 4...

If you like fishing for Perch then here are a few tips which should help you catch a few stripy's, Good luck and let me know how you get on

Dawn & Dusk- Perch are low-light feeders and will often feed more...

I've had many over the years as I'm sure we all have, why is it that the biggest ones always seem to get away. River Guide at Throop

Hi I'm pretty new to Ringwood AA but very keen to start fishing Throop over the coming months. I live only about a mile away from the Mill and was wandering whether anyone would be interested in sparing an hour or two for a walk round/ info/ advice etc...

I have already put in many hours just walking the banks with polaroids and chatting to anglers that I meet along the way and I just think an hour with someone who knew the river would be a valuable addition to the info I've already...
